In partnership with Pasadena Unified School District and John Muir High School, Day One Nutrition Education staff members taught a series of Nutrition and Harvest of the Month workshops from January to May 2015. Day One received Champions for Change funding from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Nutrition and Physical Activity program in 2013. The funding has provided an opportunity for Day One to work on nutrition education initiatives through youth engagement. Through Harvest of the Month nutrition workshops, over 200 students at John Muir High School were educated about the importance of health and nutrition. Day One presented a variety of topics regarding health and nutrition, along with hands-on activities such as Yoga, games, food demonstrations, and visuals to assist the students in their learning.
