Program Overview

The Dena Directory

This resource directory was created to help Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre connect with recovery resources and support after the Eaton Fire.

DENA C.A.R.E.S Intake Form

This initiative provides housing education, navigation support, emergency housing resources, and community-building opportunities to foster long-term housing stability, mental health, and resilience.

Vision

We envision a resilient community that is informed, prepared, and empowered to reduce wildfire risk in the Angeles National Forest and surrounding foothills, protecting the places they call home.

Mission

To strengthen community resilience by providing wildfire preparedness education and outreach, supporting local leadership, and fostering strong community partnerships.

Values

  • Collaboration

  • Equity

  • Resilience

Scope

The San Gabriel Valley Foothills ranging from Altadena to Claremont.

Our San Gabriel Foothill communities sit right at the wildland-urban interface (WUI) -- where wildland vegetation and homes, neighborhoods, and other infrastructure meet or mix-- putting residents at higher risk of wildfire, often without clear guidance on how to prepare.

Following the Eaton Fire of January 2025, Day One & Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) partnered to establish Fire Safe Foothills (FSF) to prepare for wildfires through education and outreach.
